Ireland Day 7

Example HR

Today I toured Donegal Castle and then went to a sweater shop that the lady that got me booked at my B&B told me about. The guy that runs it is Mr. McGinty, and the name of the store is, suprise suprise, McGinty's Sweater Shop. Anyway I went in and looked around and found a few gifts and got myself a new hat made from Donegal tweed wool. Mr. McGinty asked me what I had seen and what I planned to see and I told him that I was about finished and was going to head south. He said that just wouldn't do and got out a map and some pictures and told me several places I should visit. So I took his advice and headed directly West through Killybegs and hung a left at Carrick to a little place called Teelin, where there were to be some sea cliffs. Well there were and it is beyond my vocabulary to be able to describe them. The whole scene was absolutely breathtaking, not unlike the drive to get there. I ended up driving on a back road to get there and it was a hair-raising experience for sure, but I'm a lot more confident driving now! After I took a walk on the beach and some pictures, I headed south towards Sligo and stopped on the way at a little place called Largy. I got a room at Yeats' Lodge, where the LA people had told me about. I went into Sligo town and bummed around for a while and got some food, then went back out towards the B&B, but stopped just short of it at Yeats Tavern. I popped in for a bit and started talking to some locals and met one guy that's headed to Nashville next July for some dance competition. I hung out and talked with the locals and cut up and told jokes for a long tine. About 1:00am the owner, a little old lady, came in with her two dogs and told some jokes with us and then one of the guys, Joe, drove me on to the B&B since it was dark and I couldn't really remember where I was going. It was pretty cool.
