Ireland Day 12

Example HR

This morning at breakfast I met Paddy and Mary, who were in town for a wedding. We had a good visit and conversation which always makes the day a bit brighter. On the advice of Margeaux, I headed down and visited a little port town named Cobh (pronounced cove). It was the last port of call of both the Titanic and the Lusitania. There was a guy there that did a walking tour around the town and told about some of the town history and some stories of the Titanic and he had photographs and such to show along the way. After that I headed towards Waterford City, but only made it as far as Dungarvan. I found a hostel and got a room for 20 euro and the lady told me where to find good music. Once again I was close enough to walk to the town center, so I went down and had a nice Indian cuisene dinner, and headed up to the pub. The music didn't start 'till almost 11pm, so I just barely made it out of the room by 10:00 the next morning. One oddity here that doesn't really happen in the States has to do with cash machines. There are atm's on every other corner in the towns and it seems that there is always a line waiting to use each one. At home, I guess everyone just uses their bank card and doesn't worry about the cash, but most of the places here don't have credit card machines.
